ABERFELDY's
ROUTE TO SUSTAINABILITY
At ABERFELDY we go to great lengths to care for the surrounding area and wildlife to ensure a sustainable future. From reducing our carbon footprint by 90% since 2015, to eliminating single-use plastics in our packaging, we are working towards “Route to Net Zero” with many other initiatives now part of this ongoing endeavour.
At Aberfeldy we return our cooling waters to the same sources we draw from and have improved water efficiency by >30% in the last 15 years.
Our distillery was rated ‘Excellent’ by the Scottish Environment Protection Agency in its latest review, the highest rating in the scheme.
Aberfeldy works with local communities to support and protect the biodiversity of the environment where we operate.
We have eliminated single-use plastics in all our gift packs’ secondary packaging. We also send zero waste to landfill and all our waste material is converted into energy. Furthermore, our use of sustainably certified paper has been 100% approved by the Forestry Stewardship Council.
The distillery has a biomass boiler which uses sustainably sourced wood pellets as fuel, leading to a 90% reduction in carbon emissions since 2015.
